Sleep tight, sweetie boy.

Sweet Dreams, originally uploaded by {Kimberly.Wood.Photography}.

My poor little muffin is sick. His fever is mostly gone, now that he is taking motrin.I had to ask the nurse at the COPC for a medicine syringe so we could ambush him- ambush in a cup doesn't work well.

He has infection in both ears, and I think a tad of conjunctivitis as he has what Jack called 'eye boogers' :P But that will clear up on it's own and I don't dare attempt eye drops with him.

He has been sleeping lots, eating less but is fairly active when he is up. He is doing better. I hate to see him under the weather at all though, it is so sad when little ones are sick.

I <3 him.

As if I'm not doing this too.

Make your own no-sew sling

How exciting, I can make it for half the cost easily (maybe more) than ordering it online. I am so excited to be doing so much myself and saving money :) I know Jack will like that too!

Part-ay

Paige's cake turned out pretty awesome. It even has coloured sugar on top for a glitter effect :P It took a few hours because I suck, but it is done and ready to go. Now all I have to do is show up and watch a movie, everything else is organized. I kind of can't wait until it's over lol.

The Difference

So far this morning I have chauffeured Jack to work, and Paige to school. I have cooked a chocolate chip pancake birthday breakfast, washed all the dishes from said breakfast, bathed the boy, cleaned and mopped the bathroom, swept the lower level of the house, done a load of laundry and have even had time to take a pee break. It's 9:50am.

On a normal day, I am at work and don't get the chance to use my energy for 'good'. I get home at 1:15 most days and you know what? Jack hasn't done anything. The house is in complete disarray. And not only has he not done anything productive, he has added to my work by creating chaos everywhere he (and little man) goes.

I have trouble seeing the difference here that enables me to be perfectly capable of keeping my eye on my toddler AND keeping up the house and apparently hinders Jack from doing the same. What am I missing?

You've Got Me.

Sarah, and Jess, and Robyn and countless others are doing this... and I wasn't going to because I have been feeling quite lazy lately. However, I saw reference to me making fabulous items in someone else's comments, so how can I refuse? *disclaimer..I might not knit:P*

So here it is sportsfans. Jump on in. I'm too late for everyone else's but that's ok.

Here is the offer: I hereby pledge to make something for the first 5 persons who respond to AND agree to the conditions of this blog/offer.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations so please read carefully:

* I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
* What you get is what you get. It could be a papiermache statue of me, or a haiku, or a doll made of toothpicks. Or something that you have always yearned for in your secret heart but didn't even know until I gave it to you. Or something else.
* What I create will be just for you. One of a kind!
* It’ll be done this year (2009).
* I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. Unless you live near me, it will be something that needs to be mailed, so you’d have to be willing to provide a viable address.
* In return, all you need to do is post this text into a blog or bulletin of your own and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your note under these same conditions.

IMPORTANT: This offer is null and void if you do not post your own blog/bulletin to pay this forward.

Mmmm...cake....

This is an absolutely delicious recipe. I was determined to make the cake from scratch for Paige this year, instead of ordering it or using a box mix. This recipe, right here... is perfect (click on the title of the post). I substituted the buttermilk for 2% milk that I already had, used 1/2cup margarine instead of just 2 TBS and 1 cup Cocoa instead of 1/2 cup.

It is light, fluffy and oh so chocolatey. It's perfect! I didn't make the icing, I doubted my abilities so maybe next time but the cake is to die for. I baked Paige's cake to put in the freezer until I decorate Saturday and a little mini cake so we could try out the recipe( in case it sucked lol)

I highly recommend this. It will be hard not to dig in before the party!
